If Christianity were a job most of us would be fired. Do you agree?

As Christians we are called to pray without ceasing, love your neighbor as yourself, evangelize, disciple others, and baptize. Although these job descriptions seem extensive they are way more than attainable. Because there are many distractions and temptations in life, we can’t possibly be on the right career with God. By career I mean ministry and by ministry I mean anything that is for the glory and honor of God.
Let’s unpack this a little more shall we? Some time a friend with my same job title and within the same company was laid off. Now this put everything into perspective. This made me think of myself and how I should always try harder because you just never know what will happen. Then I began to think about God, and how if I was his employee how would He feel towards my performance as a Christian. So I thought to myself, “If I was working for God, I would be fired by now.” This made me think of how to improve my relationship with HIM, but also be His servant and complete the task that He has left me.
The cool thing about God is that He is so patient and merciful at the same time. He gives us endless chances but we abuse the opportunities. Not only our load is light because He carries it, but the only thing He asks is to advance his kingdom. That’s it. He didn’t say, “Stop everything that you’re doing, quit the jobs you have and work for me.” On the contrary, we are free to work on a freelancing basis. However, some christians take that freelancing basis to another extent slack off.

In 2nd Thesallonians 3:10 it says,

“For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”

This alone is the golden rule that we all should live by. So if this is to work for a plate of food, just imagine how much more it should be for God. Noone waits for the bills to get paid on their own or expect the groceries just to appear. Things just don’t get taken care of on their own do they?

Jesus is the best example when He says, that the Father never stops working so neither should He. This is crazy to think that our Father who is in heaven is working on a constant basis so why should we stop.

So, if Christianity were a job would we get minium wage? Do we get a six figure income and added bonuses based on our performance? Do we get to go on vacation from time to time? Do we get paid time off? Earthly things will never compare what God has in store. He’s preparing the mansion even as you are reading this. On top of that we receive the the full package, packed with so many benefits, you wouldn’t even know what to do them. What are these benefits you ask? God gives us more than meets the eye and what our futile mind can comprehend: eternal Life, and that’s just one of the perks. What job or position you know can offer such a thing?

So it’s time to act now because if we don’t we will miss out on the blessings (Not to say that we preach the gospel for blessings) that He has for our lives. Also, know that if you aren’t willing to do the job it will get done even if God has to use rocks to do his work? So if Christianity were a job for you, do you think you would be fired? If so, why?

Is there a difference in God allowing pain and trials? Or are the situations we face a result of our bad decisions and not choosing to listen to God, therefore leaving us in pain and sorrow. One could argue that God does not want us to feel pain, that’s why He took on death so we could be satisfied with Him and never be sad or lonely etc. But then you have those that bring up the situation with Job and how God allowed pain to come to Job. What do you think?

Believing in Jesus as your Savior will get you into heaven, but will you find out immediately after you “pass away” or will you have some time to think about what you’ve done with the knowledge of your creator and sleep until He comes back to make the world right? Some refer to Luke 23:43

“Jesus answered him, ‘Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.’ ”

as being the obvious answer. While others say 1 Thessalonians 4:16

“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.”

(see also 1 Thes 4:13-14) What do you think? Share your opinion and leave a comment

His majesty alarms
Starts ringing at dawn
In zero space in the morn
His Glory opens then Yawns
The elders worship in song
Then angels join in the song
his Beard Rejoices Its long
His Glory brings him his crown
With stones of honor around
All in unison sound
of trumpets playing aloud
As His Kingdom orchestrates
the true surround sound
With Mighty power abound
extending higher his grounds
of His Omnis and Authority,
Christ, the King over all eternity
The Heavens and the earth shout God’s Glory
But they can’t fill it because their not worthy
Forever his splendor’s remembered He’s that holy
As his word is reassuring his words in His stories
laid with many layers the foundation of salvation
Marking off extending more all of its dimensions
He Measured it and for his pleasure it’s sits as righteous
Made the clouds their garments
and at night wraps them in darkness
He put the waves to a halt
And ranked their place so they march
Placing doors, bars and limits in a gate with a vault
Cutting channels of enormous torrents with currents
of rain from the thunder storming domain in the earth
he paved the way to the place where lighting is dispersed
Bringing constellations forth in the course of the season
As He leads the bear with its cubs he’s the only reason
All the elements such as quakes, tornadoes,
and lightning all report
Saying, “Here we are.” “You’re in charge you’re the boss”
When it comes to counting He’s the star
Counting Universal particles, clouds, sand and grains of salt
Weighing them all for sake of balance without error never short
Only He can loosen Orion’s belt
Look at the Horizon as it needs to kneel
and how the vertical prostrates itself
Standing straight forward on it’s heel.
