Judgement Seat? or Soul Sleep?
Believing in Jesus as your Savior will get you into heaven, but will you find out immediately after you “pass away” or will you have some time to think about what you’ve done with the knowledge of your creator and sleep until He comes back to make the world right? Some refer to Luke 23:43
“Jesus answered him, ‘Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.’ ”
as being the obvious answer. While others say 1 Thessalonians 4:16
“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.”

See, that is where i believe is the “confusion”. Have you heard of or seen a brother in Christ “backslide” or “fall off” the beaten path? A believer in Christ who has a series of weakness and for a season chooses not to follow Christ? Or the believer that gets discouraged and for whatever reason stops gathering and communicating with the Father? Those are the “sleeping in Christ” I see it as this, if for a long time my faith was being beaten and battered and lost hope of being “pulled out from the pit” (which i see happen oh so many times)……but then………to see, Christ come in all His glory…..that would awaken a hope/ faith/ relief/ happiness in me that i again would “rise” in me. It only adds to the fact of the tribulation period because i would assume that is what one would go through for those who’ve wondered about Christ and werent sure, they’d be “iffy” “asleep” on completely accepting Christ as their Savior. I know im using a lot of quotes but its for clarification. =)
i agree with ef and carlos on why would God make us wait or what kind of waiting will this be. In the catholic religion it does mention purgatory and also in the catholic bible it mentions it but that is not in the original books. In the christian bible, wherever that section is where purgatory is mention i might have skipped it because i didnt see it in my bible. So in conclusion, Ill be waiting for the JUDGEMENT SEAT when that day comes. im not saying im impatient, but yet i am, i just want to see my Lord after im done with this life, i dont wanna be stuck at the DMV in line. Just saying

God doesnt have a waiting room or a busy schedule….STRAIGHT TO THE JUDGMENT SEAT
i agree with the Luke verse, idk why people would think that one would wait in the ground till Jesus would come back? Its just not His M.O. I mean if He wanted us to wait for Him, then He wouldnt even have had to come down. I say that cuz if we had to we wait, then just faith that the messiah saves and mercy not to mention the sacrifices shudv been enuff……I mean why would Jesus tell the guy “today” if He was gona make the dude wait til His 2nd coming to be with His Creator?
